As Of Counsel to the firm's probate litigation and guardianship practice, he provides many years of expertise on disputes arising from contested Wills, complex estates and trusts, elder law, advanced health care directives, and powers of attorney. In this capacity, Mr. Hiller provides a wealth of knowledge in the litigation of caveat proceedings over the enforceability of Wills, disputes pending in Maryland's Orphan's Court and in the Circuit Courts of Maryland, petitions for the appointment of guardians to protect minors and incompetent persons, and ways to provide for heirs while avoiding costly civil lawsuits.
Having served as general counsel to a major regional manufacturer, Mr. Hiller also shares his understanding of complex business transactions when conducting business risk management audits designed to minimize corporate liability and to prevent future litigation. Representing both large and small businesses at Kramer & Connolly, he applies his practical knowledge of business concerns to meet the needs and sense of urgency of busy business executives. He also serves as legal counsel to several national, regional and local charitable organizations and foundations and has addressed numerous organizations on methods of minimizing business liability, business formation, the special status of non-profit entities, the protection of trade secrets and effective business contracts.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree with cum laude honors from Washington University, Mr. Hiller received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the Maryland, Texas and District of Columbia bars.
