As an emerging leader in legal information and content services, we are seeking individuals with expertise in the configuration and development of dynamic web sites and a desire to assume a varied role in developing the Internet as a platform for the design of a multi-media training center using such open source CMS systems as Drupal.

Skills

To create cutting-edge platforms, we are looking for cutting-edge thinkers.  People who know today's technology, but have the energy and creativity to take projects a step beyond the norm.  The successful candidates will have expertise in the configuration of open source Content Management Systems (CMS); advanced knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, XML, RSS, CSS, CGI and JavaScript; and a familiarity with design parameters.  Our internet developers should have experience using such Internet software as Dreamweaver, some form of graphic design program, and the ability to configure E-commerce applications.  As we have recently adopted a CMS program known as Drupal, we have a strong preference for candidates with some experience in using and configuring this particular CMS program.  See www.drupal.org for details on this content management system.  Beyond programming expertise, the successful candidate should have an appreciation for such site design issues as cross-browser compatibility. As we will be using the power of the Internet to its fullest potential, some familiarity with the delivery of audiovisual media over the Internet is preferred, but not strictly required if the candidate has the ability to master this fast-growing area of Internet development.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the configuration and design of outstanding web sites, using both server-side programming skill and an appreciation for user-friendly and intuitive site design.  The positions require quality-oriented, self-starting individuals. The ability to work on multiple projects is essential as well as skill in planning, organizing, and managing time across multiple tasks and projects.  Must have an ability to master new technology, and the desire to expand projects to take advantage of technological developments.

We offer flexible full- or part-time work schedules in a professional atmosphere with excellent compensation and benefits commensurate with experience and level of skill.  Our firm is associated with a professional employer organization that provides access to a range of benefits designed to meet individual needs.  While some telecommuting is possible, the collaborative nature of these projects requires that candidates have a comfortable commute to our Owings Mills offices.  As the chosen candidates will become our chief technology officer at a time of fast growth, this position has the potential to grow with the success of this venture.
